What's Black, Red, White and adorable? None other than the Tamariki of BestStart Waihopai Kindy dressed in their Kapa Haka uniform preforming at our local Polyfest! There was much excitement in the air as the day we had been patiently waiting for and eagerly practicing for was finally here.

As the bus pulled away from the Centre with all the tamariki looking cute as ever in their kapa haka uniforms the wheels on the bus sang loud and proud as we warmed our voices for our upcoming performance. Of course, as usual, we were supported by our whanau who never fail to show up for us time and time again. Tamariki sang with such pride and confidence. There were smiles all round as we exited the stage for our group photos and lots of hugs from our whanau. During this excursion tamariki we able to extend on their connections and links within the community and people, places and things that are important to them. They were also able to extend on and build their knowledge of culture and identity as well explore their creative and expressive ways of being through waiata and dance. Most of all tamariki were able to have fun and be part of our community.
