Walking the line

In our preschool lately we have been practicing balancing and slowing our bodies down. In Montessori there is an activity called "walking the line". 

This exercise helps the child to control their body, develop balance as well as the minds control of its body movements. We drew a line on the carpet and all the children had a turn to walk along. 

First we just used our hands to balance, the second time we used the bell and we tried not to ring it, and the second time we had to balance a wooden egg on a spoon.
