The children at BestStart Rongotai have been working very hard for the past few months, getting our costumes and performance ready for WAM – BestStart’s Wearable Arts and Music Festival here in Wellington.

We practiced our songs and prepared our korowai – Māori cloaks that show how we can honour the Treaty of Waitangi.

On the day we were very lucky – a lot of our Mums and Dads came with us on a big bus to Porirua for our performance, which was very exciting!

Our performance was a roaring success and we were so lucky to be able to take our whole centre on the bus to be able to perform!
