Water and Sand Play at BestStart Redwood
With the warm weather and our kiwi summer programme we have been exploring using lots of water related activities. All the tamariki have loved getting involved and just freely exploring this wonderful resource.
With water and sand the children are able to learn about textures, flows and how they are able to change and manipulate the sand. Introducing children to new water-related textures (slippery, slimy!) and temperatures can be an amazing sensory experience. This will also help them master different skills, including their pincer-grip, hand-eye co-ordination, fundamental knowledge on what they can do with the different textures, explore with their whole self, using all their senses to develop an understanding of the world.
