Water Day to support Healthy Heart
Today at BestStart Springlands we held a water day in support of the healthy heart foundation. During this time the children explored some healthy baking, painting and a lot of water. With the hot weather we have been having, a water day was the perfect way to cool down and have some fun.
We have now got a new chef sharing some exciting new recipes for our curriculum baking. Today she shared her buckwheat and banana pancake recipe; this was delicious! Throughout all the rooms the children had fun exploring maths as they measured, poured and mixed ingredients together watching the scientific reaction that the wet and dry ingredients had on each other. The best part of making these was sharing them together at afternoon tea time.
Celebrating our hearts, the under twos explored the colour of their heart with some red hand painting. Exploring the felling of the paint as they smeared their hands around the paper creating an image and expressing their knowledge through artwork.
Throughout the centre we had so much fun exploring different water experiences. We had water in the trough, lids as a splash pool, soak hoses, sprinklers, and water of a shower head. The children had a lot of fun exploring the different types of water and how their bodies manipulate each type of water experience.
