An activity that our Big House children absolutely LOVE is waterplay! They can and do spend hours, splashing, filling, pouring and washing through all the different resources added to the water trough.

Water provides hours of fun and a multitude of wonderful development and learning opportunities. Splashing around in the water can be an excellent outlet for pent up energy. Waterplay can also be relaxing with the repetitive nature of scooping, pouring and running hands through the water it can allow children to unwind, order their thoughts and relax. Fine motor skills and hand and eye coordination are developing as children scoop and pour water and fill and empty containers in a number of different ways. Investigating science concepts such as which objects floats and sinks and color mixing.
