SENSE OF BELONGING!

At BestStart North Harbour, we pride ourselves on making our children and their families feel a sense of belonging. We create a beautiful haven for our tamariki where they feel safe and secure. We treat them with respect and diversity is valued. We believe that in order for a child to thrive, they must develop a sense of belonging first.

We offer them safe spaces and give them time to explore and establish their identities. It is important that they are accepted for who they are and we support them in their own learning and development. It is important for our children to develop self-confidence and a sense of identity.

Our children at BestStart North Harbour thrive because they feel at home. They know that they have a place. They see their own culture and language in the centre. They feel welcome. The environment is warm, making them feel comfortable to explore and learn. The teachers are intentional in ensuring that our children are safe and secure. We embrace diversity. We treat our children individually. Our children are happy. They feel connected. They are able to reciprocate the sense of belonging to their friends and teachers in the centre.
