We enjoy creating art here at BestStart Vivian
The tamariki at BestStart Vivian enjoy creating in the art area using all sorts of resources while spending their days with us. Whether it be painting at the paint easel, using ink and stamps, collage work, or just creating with pencils and crayons.
Art encourages children to share stories, experiences, and knowledge. It promotes relationships and communication skills. Children will often create their art from knowledge and experiences and then be able to share a story behind their creations.
Art promotes creativity and thinking, develops a child's fine motor skills and problem-solving, as well as helping them understand and express themselves and the world around them; it promotes self-esteem and self-expression.
The tamariki at BestStart Vivian love exploring the art area, seeing the ever-changing resources we have put out for that day, and then problem-solving and coming up with their own working theory on how they could use these resources.
Our new dinosaur-shaped stencils are a big hit with the tamariki, some then creating a whole different world on their paper! Each with its own creation and own story. Through art, we are able to incorporate the current interests of the children, where they are able to make connections throughout all areas of their play.
