WE LOVE STORIES
In our Toddler Room here at BestStart Buchanans Rd, we LOVE stories. It is so lovely to snuggle up on our couches with our teachers to read stories or to help ourselves to books as we look at the pictures and pretend to tell the stories – some of which are so loved that we really do know them!
We also enjoy doing mat times when our teachers read us stories, or do board stories with us. We especially love when we get to take part and help to hold or move the pictures.
Lately, we have been talking about our emotions and exploring these when we are reading and retelling our stories. For example, if there is a big bear coming we can pretend to be scared and make scared faces, or if something exciting happens we can make happy faces. What a fun and engaging way to support our Toddlers understanding of emotions through something that they truly love.
