Today we made our own weaving boards with string, ribbon, and cardboard.

Weaving is a new skill we are learning at BestStart Glen Eden

We practiced weaving under and over the string.

Everyone was so happy when they finished weaving, feeling proud of the new skills they had learnt.

This activity is easy to make at home. All you need is...

cardboard

scissors

string

ribbon

1 - Cut small slits, evenly spaced along 2 opposite sides of the cardboard.

2 - Wind the string around the cardboard through the slits and tie a knot at each end.

3 - Now you are ready to weave with your ribbon!!!

Your child will learn to listen to instruction as they learn a new skill, concentration, fine motor skills, the concept of under and over and much more!!!
