We're going on a bear hunt!
In the Tuatara room at BestStart Botany Road, we are currently exploring the living world so we set up an invitation to play using the story "We're Going On A Bear Hunt" What is an invitation to play? It's a set up in the learning environment that provokes thoughts, discussions, questions, interests, creativity and ideas.
The children enjoyed reading the book quietly, feeling the different textures and pretending to re-enact the story in their play. When children use their imagination; there is open-ended possibilities to make their own theories about the world around them. What an awesome way to explore the natural world - through storytelling!
