We've adopted a Kakapo!
Over the past year we have all been learning and gaining a greater understanding about our very special toanga the Kakapo bird and how it is becoming extinct. Here at BestStart Paraparaumu we decided as a team that we would all get on board to raise not only awareness with our parents and whanau but also enough money to ADOPT one for our centre. WAHOO! After lots of fun events we finally did it, we celebrated with a whanau evening and two of our kaiako getting slimed!!!!. As you can see the fun didn't stop there, at the end of the event all the children and some brave parents also joined in the fun with slimming one another and having a massive water balloon fight (Bio-degradable balloons as we are also working on becoming a sustainable centre).
