On 24 March 2026, we hosted a highly successful Whānau Evening with an excellent turnout from our families.

It was wonderful to see parents genuinely engaged and eager to learn more about our curriculum and the learning journey we provide for their tamariki. The evening covered important aspects such as the 16 areas of learning, Individual Learning Plans (ILP), daily planning, parent aspirations, and our school readiness programme.

Each teacher confidently presented their part, giving whānau a clear understanding of how learning progresses from the Acorns Room through to Tall Oaks. This helped strengthen connections between home and the centre, as parents gained deeper insight into how we support their child’s development at every stage.

The open-floor discussion at the end encouraged meaningful conversations, where parents felt comfortable asking questions and sharing their thoughts. A very positive outcome of the evening was the strengthened partnerships between teachers and whānau, increased parent confidence in our teaching practices, and a shared understanding of goals for children’s learning.

Whānau expressed appreciation for the transparency and knowledge shared, and many felt more empowered to support learning at home. It was also a proud moment for our teaching team, who were acknowledged for their professionalism, confidence, and commitment to quality education.
