Over the month of September the preschool has been very busy. We have celebrated Maori Language Week and watched as one of our special teachers (Ali ) makes her debut rise to fame. We have been fortunate enough to have some amazing weather which has meant that we have spent a lot of time having fun in the sun, creating, running, building and of course getting wet and mucky through water play in the sand pit.  A big interest of ours has been learning about the human body. This has meant Learning about the digestive system in which we created a model so we can watch what happens with our food as it passes through the body. We have also been learning about the respiratory system and how our body inhales and exhales. The children have really enjoyed being a part of this and having the opportunity to get in and learn through hands on activities. We would like to continue looking at all the great things the human body can do through age appropriate learning experience over the next few weeks.  The week of the 21st we celebrated the Chinese moon festival. We experienced traditional Chinese opera and made masks alongside our tamariki. Also to celebrate this wonderful celebration, Jun has been teaching us some simple Mandarin words that we can use throughout the day, as well as sharing some great Chinese stories that are special to her from her childhood.
