Last week we were lucky enough to have Adam, Neala's dad, bring in the shaky house for us. "What is a shaky house?" I hear you ask, well its an earthquake simulator that Civil Defence take out into the community to educate people on what to do in the event an earthquake.  In groups of 8, we trotted over to Tahi and made our way to the back carpark where Adam had set up for us. We climbed up the stairs and into the little room that had a couple of desks inside. There we spoke about what to do when there was an earthquake. Once we finished having a chat about what to do, Adam would push the magical button and the room sways just as it would in an earthquake. The teachers would then encourage "the turtle safe position" to keep us safe.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Adam and Civil Defence Marlborough for your time, resources and work you do in the community.
