What is posting?

Here is an experience that fulfills an urge known as posting, where the children can post feathers into the wholes of a colander. This is one of many ways we can use these open-ended resources. During this posting experience children are developing hand-eye co-ordination and body control. They are also developing persistence and determination which will help with problem-solving. The children are learning to share and take turns. We are also seeing a culture of care as this a great opportunity for tuakana-teina relationships, where the younger child is observing and figuring out what to do from the older children and the older children are helping the younger child.
