On 20th September, we hosted whānau kaiako korēro evening at BestStart Flat Bush. It is a bi-termly evening organised by all staff in the centre. Whānau & kaiako korēro evening is a great opportunity for whānau and kaiako to have one-on-one face conversations about each individual child's learning and development.

Kaiako show whānau their child/ren's individual learning plan and portfolio, talking through their learning journey at BestStart Flat Bush, sharing strategies and aspirations, and celebrating children's achievement with whānau, of course, setting up the next learning goal with whānau together so that whānau have a shared understanding of what learning goal their child would like to achieve in order to support them from home.

Whānau don't need to prepare anything prior to the korēro. However, they do need to book a time with the teacher to secure a timeslot. This year's korēro went really well. We had about 60 families attending the evening. Positive feedback has been received from whānau, appreciating all the time and effort that our staff have put into it to make it happen.

We would like to thank all families who participated in the korēro this year because we understand how busy everyone's life is. It was so delightful to see so many families involved and engaged in the korēro for the better learning outcomes of the children.
