Kia Ora whānau , Over the past Few weeks in the Matai Room, the essence of whānaungatanga has been beautifully exemplified as our tamariki have come together to celebrate each other and collaborate in their learning journey.
Whānaungatanga, a fundamental concept in Te Whāriki, emphasises the importance of building and nurturing relationships within a community, within In our Matai Room, this principle is not just a theoretical concept but a lived reality. Through various activities and interactions, our tamariki have been actively engaged in fostering connections, showing empathy, and embracing diversity.
From collaborative art projects to group storytelling sessions, they have been encouraged to work alongside each other, respecting each other's perspectives and contributions. Kaiako have witnessed the positive impact of whānaungatanga on our tamariki's sense of belonging and well-being. By embedding this principle into our daily practices, Kaiako create a nurturing space where each child feels valued and supported.
Together, we celebrate the uniqueness of each individual while fostering a sense of unity and collective belonging within our Matai Room community. This can be seen through the tamariki friendships they have developed with other, running in each day to greet each other and seeking out each other to engage them in their play.
