Wow! Our vege garden has grown fast!
With all the rain lately our veggie garden has been growing so quickly!
As we were exploring the garden today we found some vegetables that were not there last week, our children have been fantastic Kaitiaki and have developed many skills in looking after our growing plants. Today we noticed small pumpkins growing, and then found some Pea’s on the plants, we took a look together at the peas and decided upon which ones might be ready to eat and picked some to share.
Now that the peas were ready and the pumpkin were growing we wondered about our carrots, we took a look at the top of the carrot and decided to pull one out, yes, they were also ready. The children pulled the carrots out of the garden and went inside to wash them.
Everyone was very excited and eager to try the carrots and peas straight from our garden, this followed on from the spinach we harvested from our garden just last week which everyone got to try, its such a fantastic way to get children excited about vegetables!
