Writing my name
Over the last few weeks our tamariki have been very interested in identifying their own names and learning to write them. The Kaiako decided to create a space where tamariki could find their own names and put it from the left of not being here at kindy to the right side saying they were here today at Kindy. These names are also available for tamariki so they can be encouraged to try and write their own names on their artwork. On Friday, the 12th of March, the tamariki asked Kaiako Jessica if they could write their names. As this was child led Jessica supported the tamariki by providing them with white boards and markers to engage in learning to write their own names. The ages of the tamariki who engaged in this learning experience spanned from 2 years to 5 years.
