Yay Ice Ice Baby

With all the cold snaps we have had in the Mighty Waikato recently we have been finding ice in our playground in the mornings. We decided to put some water in the trough and leave it overnight to see if it would freeze. Sure enough the temperature was so cold overnight that it froze!! We were so excited to find huge chunks of ice in our trough! We had so much fun with the ice. Listening to the sound it made when we dropped it on the ground - it sounded like glass. The texture was smooth. The ice was cold. Our tamariki loved watching the ice melt through their hands and some even had a sneeky taste! 

It is so amazing exploring all the different changes the seasons have to offer!
