Zoom meetings in lockdown

Our BestStart Montel, Pukeko room team has been engaging with our whānau through Zoom meetings on Mondays and Wednesdays every week during this lockdown.

We have also been engaging with the children and their whānau individually through child notes on story park. It’s great to see parents acknowledging and responding to the posts and messages. Some parents have posted photos of what the babies are doing at home. It has been a pleasure seeing the different things our babies have been doing during this challenging time.

Zoom meetings provides a great opportunity for us to see our babies and engage with them virtually. During this time, we sing their favourite songs and read stories to them. Added to this, we engage on story park sharing recipes and videos to the whānau. Also posted play ideas to keep the children engaged by using re-usable things at home.

We have also made the week of Father’s Day special by posting craft ideas and quotes that are inspiring.

BestStart at home has made this engagement possible and we are pleased with it.
