At BestStart Cambridge, we are growing Hometown Heroes!

At BestStart Cambridge, we are working in partnership with whānau and the local community to empower our children to achieve their learning potential. The ‘Hometown heroes’ vision underpins our curriculum. By developing and mastering their special superhero powers our learners are active members in our local community and supportive to those in their village/centre. We view children as unique individuals who bring their own set of superpowers with them to our centre.

Our little heroes in training will learn from to protect and care for all living things learning from everyone in our community! Going for walks in our local flora and fauna where they will develop the ability to care for wildlife and plants. Through the creation of our community garden filled with yummy kai you will see our heroes learning about sustainability, recycling and helping support the wider community. By visiting the vest next door our junior heroes will learn to care for furry friends.

You will find us in the heart of Cambridge, in the Waikato region of New Zealand. We are in a residential area, but with established trees and the Waikato river running along the back of the property. We love our community and value the beautiful natural surroundings of Cambridge such as the Waikato River, Lake Karapiro, and the picturesque Maungatautari Ecological Reserve.

Our Team

We are a close knit team and diverse team from all over the world, which means children are exposed to many different languages such as Dutch, Mandarin and Afrikaans. Our teaching team are also very creative with some staff being a published author and a concert violinist - these passions are shared with tamariki.

What We Offer

Our Spaces

We are a purpose-built early childhood education centre. Our classroom environments are developmentally appropriate and are designed to inspire and encourage our learners through the 16 areas of play.
