BestStart Delta Avenue is an early learning centre in New Lynn. We provide high-quality early education and award-winning childcare for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers until they go to school.

BestStart Delta Avenue is located in New Lynn and features a beautiful building with modern learning spaces designed to support the specific developmental stages of every age group including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Our high-quality, engaging resources are designed to spark curious minds and every child’s learning journey is captured and shared through one-on-one communication through our online learning portfolios on Storypark.

We’re big on showing kindness to ourselves and each other by growing great relationships. We get to know you and your child so that we can provide the best support for your family. At BestStart Delta Avenue, our teachers will encourage your child to develop the skills, knowledge, and attributes that will prepare your child throughout their learning journey until they are ready to transition to school.

Our Team

Our team of experienced and passionate teachers look forward to getting to know new children and families. We're a creative team and we are always looking for new ways to engage our children in fun learning activities that build their skills and self-belief. We love to learn outside and have an expansive outdoor area where children can challenge themselves safely on the playground equipment while building their independence and self-confidence. Our centre cook provides fresh, healthy, nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day - so no need to pack lunches in the morning!

Since attending BestStart Delta Avenue, Cai has been thriving. He enjoys attending daycare and he is a happy, well-adjusted one-year-old who is being challenged daily and encouraged to be himself. The multicultural ethos at the centre is outstanding, with the children being encouraged to share and celebrate their culture. We are a multicultural family, so this is very important to us. The karakia before lunch and the greetings in Te Reo Maori by the manager demonstrate the bicultural practices in the centre. Communication has been outstanding from the very beginning from BestStart Delta Avenue. Cai is a very boisterous toddler, if his behaviour is anything out of the ordinary, he's injured or just if he's not himself, we receive a call from the staff just to let us know, which we find comforting that such care and attention is given to our child. The facilities are new and excellent with a range of stimulating and fun activities available to the children. Nothing ever seems to be too much of an inconvenience to the staff at BestStart Delta avenue. They are friendly, caring and genuinely invested in the best for the children in their care. I cannot speak highly enough of this centre and am always happy to share my opinion of this BestStart and her wonderful teachers.

This daycare is such an amazing place. Wonderful staff with so much heart and caring mindset. It's such a wholesome feeling seeing my kids get so excited about attending and greeting their teachers and friends with big smiles and hugs. I love that my children can feel as though it is their home away from home.The teachers really make an effort to engage the kids and develop them in a very individualized way and it shows everyday when my kids come home saying a new word, phrase or a complete sentence. The facility is also well thought of with separated rooms catered to each age group but structured so that the teachers are able to help each other out. The management as well is really committed to providing a safe and loving environment and we're very thankful to Mel and the whole team at BestStart Delta for all that you do for our kids.

Ever since my son started daycare, it was the scariest experience but the whole team at the best start new Lynn has been nothing but the best. They have always supported me and went above and beyond for our little family. The years went by so fast as he always enjoyed being there with all the amazing teachers. We would like to say thank you so much and keep up the good work. If ever we have another baby. We will definitely be back.

My daughter joined daycare when she was seven months. BestStart has done an amazing mahi during the pandemic, and of course, every day while I’m at work, my daughter has learnt so much she has become very independent and acts like she’s five already!

Thanks very much, Mel and your amazing team! We very much appreciate your incredible teamwork. From day one our first child Bilal joined this centre, we found the centre very welcoming, and the staff members made us feel at home. Although we had other centres closer to our area, because of the positive experience we had with the centre we were very comfortable commuting for our second child, Ayub, who completed his preschool at this centre a week ago. Our boys had a wonderful time at BestStart Delta Ave. They always enjoyed the time they spent with their teachers. Based on our experience, this centre is a true representation of a multicultural community- children at the centre are from all walks of life. Mel, your leadership capability in transforming the centre is quite visible. Hiral and the team- thanks to your dedication, hard work and unparalleled quality of learning opportunity you provide through your incredible teaching activities and engagement. You can all be rightly proud of the achievements of the children in your centre.

Today is our son's second to last day at the centre and we would like to take a moment to show our love and appreciation to everyone. Clay turned 2 a few weeks ago, it is incredible to see the development that Clay has since walking through these doors. As full-time working parents to Clay, we have always had the peace of mind that he will be loved and cared for like we do at home. That is a credit to each and every one of you! Clay spent half of his young life at this school. This is where he learned to play, run, sing, and dance, all hallmarks of a loving home which without a doubt this place has been for Clay.

Owais moved to Tirotiro room recently. Mel and her team know he is fond of the Pepi room and the teachers, but the team try their best to settle him down throughout the journey. I always feel confident that he will be well looked after when I drop him off in the morning. Thank you to the amazing team - Mel, Sally, Shobna, Shabeeba, Levina, Leslie for always assisting me in the morning when Owais is unsettled. Drop-offs are hard for us, but the team makes it easy and we can go to work without worrying about our child. I also like to thank Sally for being so efficient and caring. She makes sure that Owais is always clean when we pick him up in the afternoon. That's all I can ask for - my child is clean, fed and during winter he is changed into warm clothes (if needed). Thank you to Mel and her entire team for taking care of Owais.
