BestStart East Tamaki Road is a early education centre located in Papatoetoe, located close to Hunters Corner. We provide high-quality early education and award-winning childcare for children aged from 3 months to 5 years old.

At BestStart East Tamaki, we provide a warm and welcoming learning atmosphere where our children and families/whanau feel they belong. We promote learning environments with a sense of calm and connection and our teachers get to know the children and their families, including them in our vibrant centre life with strong reciprocal relationships and support.

At our centre, each child’s culture and home routines are valued. Inclusion is a significant part of our practice and we believe that all children should be offered equal opportunities. We take every opportunity to celebrate, share hospitality, and learn about each other. We acknowledge Tangata Whenua of the land by including Te Ao Maori worldview in our daily practice.

We welcome you and your child into our centre, providing you with communication, support, and connection as you watch your child grow into an independent and competent learner who will leave us ready for their next adventure.

Our Team

Our tight-knit team of teachers believe that each child is precious and unique. We use a wide range of teaching approaches and strategies when working with each child while incorporating the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum, Te Whāriki, to provide engaging and stimulating programmes that are exciting for all the children in our centre.

EduKids preschool is such an amazing place. All the staff are very caring. Our child looks forward to going every day and always has so much to share afterward. The children learn all about art, nature, music, different cultures, as well as getting a strong foundation in letters and numbers. We are so happy to have our child there and would highly recommend it to any parents looking for a calm, caring yet intellectually stimulating environment.

Our daughter Psalms has learnt a lot of table/eating etiquette of which has created good eating habits at home also. She learns a lot of songs and sctions and loves coming home and showing or singing them to me. This is awesome for her confidence. Due to Psalms being an only child to her sole carer, her attending EduKids East Tamaki has helped her social towards engaging with other children. I appreciate this as she doesn't have other kids at home to learn this skill set from. She learns a lot of basic things such as colours, numbers and every day words from home and school. She loves going to EduKids to play on the equipment and ride the bikes too. I love that she learns about plants and flowers. She comes home and likes to smell or pick flowers for mum. I enjoy that her development for nature is nurtured at EduKids and at home.

The centre is doing marvelous work in regards to my child's development. Kaitlyn has developed so many skills and her mind and maturity development is tremendous. She has better ways to understand situations and is also a great help at home. Keep up the excellent work.

We are happy with the growth and progress of our child. She has been very happy to be there. The centre is always clean and tidy. The teachers are also very helpful and understanding. Regular catch ups with teachers is really useful in discussing concerns and planning for growth of the child.
