BestStart Faringdon is a purpose-built childcare centre with four thoughtfully designed classrooms, giving children welcoming spaces where they can learn, explore and grow at their own pace. Each environment is designed to support children's different ages and stages while creating a strong sense of safety, belonging and independence.

Our spacious outdoor areas provide even more room for big adventures and hands-on discovery, giving tamariki opportunities to challenge themselves physically, explore the natural environment and learn through active play. Across our indoor and outdoor spaces, children are encouraged to follow their curiosity, try new things and learn through exploration.

Titipounamu(Babies)

Welcome to Titipounamu, our spacious, light-filled nursery where your pēpi can feel safe, secure and cared for as they discover the world around them. We have a special space called The Nest, providing our littlest tamariki with a cosy environment designed around their needs.

Start with Heart: Our youngest tamariki are supported through nurturing, responsive relationships that help them feel secure and confident as they begin their early learning journey.
A trusted relationship: Each child has a key teacher who gets to know them closely, helping build a strong bond of trust and providing consistency throughout their day.
Room to explore: Our large outdoor area includes a sandpit and climbing equipment, giving children opportunities to develop their confidence, coordination and physical skills through active play.

Our passionate kaiako build close, reciprocal relationships with tamariki and whānau, creating a warm home away from home where your child can grow and explore at their own pace.

Piwakawaka(Toddlers)

The Pīwakawaka Room is a spacious, energetic environment where toddlers can move, explore, create and have fun throughout their day. With plenty of room indoors and out, children are encouraged to follow their curiosity and develop their growing independence through hands-on play.

Active outdoor play: Our awesome bike track is a favourite, giving tamariki opportunities to develop coordination, confidence and physical skills as they ride, move and explore.
Messy play and discovery: Messy play is a big part of the day, giving children the freedom to experiment, get stuck in and learn through their senses.
Building and creating: Construction experiences encourage children to use their imagination, problem-solve and develop persistence as they create and test their ideas.

With its busy, fun and energetic atmosphere, Pīwakawaka gives toddlers the space and freedom to learn through doing, making and exploring alongside their friends.

Tawaki(3-4 year olds)

Our Tāwaki Room is a happy, colourful space where children can create, imagine and build friendships through play. With a cosy family corner and dedicated art space, there are always opportunities for tamariki to get creative, express themselves and proudly share their creations with whānau.

Creative learning: Arts and crafts are a big part of our day, helping children explore their imagination, develop new skills and express their ideas in different ways.
Learning through relationships: Sharing our outdoor space with the Prep Room gives children opportunities to build lasting friendships and learn alongside older peers.
Family connections: Children love sharing their creations with whānau, and families are encouraged to get involved in their child's creative experiences and learning.

With plenty of laughter, colour and creativity, Tākāwhi is a welcoming space where children can feel confident to express themselves, try new things and enjoy learning with their friends.

Kakaruia(4+ years old)

Our Kākārūia Room is a welcoming space where our oldest tamariki can build confidence, independence and the skills they need for their next big adventure at school. With plenty of room to learn, create and play, children are encouraged to take on challenges, support younger tamariki and enjoy learning together.

Set for School: Our older learners are supported to develop the early literacy, numeracy, social and independence skills they need to feel confident and ready for their transition to school.
Learning through play: Games are a big part of our day, from cricket and jumbo Jenga to jumbo pick-up sticks. These experiences encourage teamwork, problem-solving, resilience and plenty of fun.
Learning together: Our outdoor space is shared with the preschool room, giving children opportunities to build lasting friendships and learn alongside one another. Our eldest tamariki also enjoy supporting younger children, strengthening their confidence and leadership skills.
A space full of imagination: From our fairy garden and creative art corner to our special marae space, children have plenty of opportunities to explore their interests, express themselves and learn through meaningful experiences.

With laughter, creativity, friendships and plenty of friendly competition, Kākārūia is a place where children can enjoy their final years at BestStart while building the confidence and skills they need for school and beyond!
