Discover our unique rooms

We have three learning spaces, each tailored to capture the interests and development of all children.

Te Pua Room(Babies)

Welcome to the BestStart Flatbush School Road Infants Room (0–2 years).

Our Infants Room offers a safe, nurturing space for babies, supporting each child to grow confidently and happily at their own pace every day.

Learning through play
We believe babies learn best through play and exploration. Our curriculum covers 16 key areas, including sensory play, communication, musical rhythm, motor skills, emotional expression, early literacy, and numeracy, promoting holistic and meaningful development.

Individual learning plans
Each baby has a personalised learning plan. Teachers support children based on their interests and developmental stages, maintaining open communication with parents to celebrate milestones together.

Home and centre partnership
We value strong family partnerships, helping parents and teachers create the warmest and most supportive learning journey possible.

Tētēkura Room(Toddlers)

Our toddler space is a calm, unhurried, spacious environment where children are encouraged to build on their motor skills through active movement.

Our Toddlers are supported and guided by their Kaiako/teachers as they develop the confidence and courage to pursue their play independently. The toddlers and preschoolers are closely connected, allowing both age groups the ability to interact outdoors together, while their age-appropriate programme is available indoors.

Te Kaihuia Room(Preschoolers)

Our preschool room has a large indoor and outdoor space allowing children to engage in responsive and meaningful interactions with each other while building trusting relationships that engage and support each child to feel secure, confident, and included.

Teachers support children to collaborate, learn from and help each other, regulate their own behaviour, respond appropriately to the behaviour of others, and communicate effectively to resolve conflicts and share ideas.
