BestStart Foxton Beach Kindy

At BestStart Foxton Beach Kindy children learn through the natural environment and develop an appreciation for nature which empowers them to become guardians of the land and community they live in!

We believe the best learning happens through relationships and connections, and we are blessed with small group sizes, so children and families can all get to know one another and teachers can really connect on a deeper level with whanau and tamariki to achieve the best learning outcomes!

We are located right by Manawatu Estuary and Foxton Beach and we love our beach lifestyle. We often go off for walks into the pine forest and sand dunes to investigate the bird life we have here, and to gather or collect any interesting discoveries. The children have ‘investigation back packs’ to take when we go exploring. These include clip boards, pencils, specimen jars and magnifying glasses to explore and investigate.

We continue learning through nature at our centre too, we are on a journey to become more sustainable through growing some of our own crops, harvesting harakeke and using our foraged resources in our day to day activities.
