BestStart Glen Eden is an early learning centre located in Glen Eden, Auckland. We provide high-quality early education and award-winning childcare for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

At BestStart Glen Eden, we believe that each child represents a seedling that needs to be nurtured to bloom. We understand that, just like a seedling, each child is unique and needs care, love (Aroha), guidance, and support to become confident and competent. We collaborate with whānau to support each child’s individual learning journey and enable them to thrive.

Situated on the old Palmers site and opposite Waikumete Cemetery, we believe we hold the heart of our community, the tamariki, in our hands. We aim to build meaningful relationships with our children and their whānau to support their sense of belonging and provide a diverse range of learning opportunities through play. Most importantly, we ensure our days are filled with fun.

Our Team

From the moment you enter our doors and beyond, our staff are here to support you. Our kaiako are both qualified and experienced, always professional and ready to pour their love and expertise into your child to help them grow to their full potential. Our wonderful cook works tirelessly to provide nutritious and delicious kai throughout the day.

Its been 2 weeks since my son joined the centre and I would like to give my feedback on the same. I must say that the choice of coming to this centre has been fruitful. Love the way, the staff - teachers Pratika, Shyama, Gina and you welcome us every time we walk into the centre. The smile and confidence to let me know that I can leave my kid without any worry is amazing. Seeing you guys work there and take care of kids and make them enjoy and want to come back everyday makes any fears I had of putting him in a new centre fades away. It's so easy for a parent to leave her/his kid with you all and go do their work in peace at home/office knowing they are in safe hands. THANK YOU for all that you guys have been doing to make this a safe and fun place. Will definitely be recommending my friends.

Today is Ning Ning’s last day, we are all feeling so emotional because we are going back to China for a few months. I could still remember the day we first visited the centre. It was such a beautiful, brand new place and that is why we chose BS Glen Eden. As a mother I always panic and get worried because Ning Ning is my first baby, but I want to thank you all for doing such a great job!! We have built trust in a very short time, because of your professional knowledge, the kindest heart and every single big cuddle in the morning with Ning Ning. Jessica, you are the best manager and educator in the world. I enjoyed every chat we had. You've always got the power to make me calm. Shehla, you are Ning Ning’s favorite teacher without a doubt. Thank you for all your cuddles and for taking care of my daughter. You did a great job and that meant a lot to us! Gerogia, you are such a big sister to all the children here. You are young, fresh and also focused on what you do. Please don’t be sad about Ning Ning’s cry in the morning. She just can not say goodbye to her mummy. Gina, Kate, Shyma, thank you for all your help and support. Coming to here was the best decision I have ever made. We enjoyed every single moment here, you guys are born for early child education! Looking forward to see you all when we get back. I will recommend this centre to all my friends for sure.

When looking for a daycare for our daughter, my wife and I met Jess and the teachers here. We were very happy with the energy and the enthusiasm that the team bring to the children. They are open, honest & genuinely enjoy working with the kids. Its nice to know your child is in a great place. 100% happy with Best Start Glen Eden!!

This is the best centre I have come across. Such a beautiful place, you can feel the vibes the moment you walk in. We are so warmly welcomed here every time we come. The initial settling period was so good, better than what I expected. Both my children enjoy and have fun while learning. This is the best feeling when you know your kids are in safe hands, it's such a relief. Even on the weekends the kids want to come to the centre. Couldn't be happier. I highly recommend this place to everyone who is looking for the best start to their precious little one's journey. Simply amazing. Thank you for being such a huge support outside your center's environment during the lockdown and being such a caring support to parents the entire lockdown. The learning support, the happy smiles, the adult games, the little wee games, your creative ideas, the fun teacher video, and for us it was that special letter in the mail for Mother's day to top it off. Everyone makes your child feel special, important, and goes the extra mile. All of the teachers joined in on entertaining our children with something by giving and sharing projects & storytime videos/Zoom, jokes, games, and recipes. Even after the lockdown by printing photos taken during the lockdown by parents, they've put up against the wall(making collages). Wow! What a great thought and thing to do, to make the children and whāinau feel special when returning back again. Micaela can't get enough of the pics by staring at all of them, pointing, saying "Baba, Dadda, lion..roar" when we enter and leave the walkway through to the classroom. Thanks for that! The way my child reacts or responds really speaks a lot about Best Start Glen Eden. This really puts me at ease and is so heartwarming to see her so happy at BestStart Glen Eden.

The team has been so welcoming of my son Lucian. It took him just under 2 weeks to get settled but he loves going to Kindy and gets excited about it. He had a small accident at Kindy, the headteacher rung me over the next couple of days to check on Lucian. The head of the center Pratika drove to my house with a care package for Lucian the day after it happened. And so, things like that, really make the centre more "human" if that makes sense. They weren't obligated to do those things, but they did because they're amazing. I have nothing but good things to say about each and every staff member at Glen Eden BestStart.

I was very hesitant about leaving my youngest baby in the arms of another, and he's always been with me and his nana, but since his first couple of days of transition and me familiarising myself with the team, I felt the love is genuine for him and all the other babies in the room. I've made the best decision to move my boys here, and I can't wait to see my little Mason grow, develop and enjoy time with his peers.

I will recommend BestStart to family and friends at every opportunity. My daughter is so well cared for, I couldn’t ask for a better team to leave her with. She has continued to thrive with the opportunities afforded to her by the team at Beststart Glen Eden – and she absolutley loves the food. How can you improve on perfect!
