Discover our unique rooms

Nga Kākano(Under 2's)

In Nga Kākano, we cater for children aged 3 months to 2.5 years. In this space, we are split into two areas, our Koru Room and our Nest.

The term Koru symbolises new beginnings, nurturing, and personal growth, and we take pride in fostering an environment characterised by Manaakitanga, which creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere that instils a sense of belonging from the moment one enters.

In the Nest (Infants Space) and Koru environment, we offer specialised education and care tailored to our younger Tamariki, ensuring that their daily routines and rhythms are honoured.
The foundation of our daily activities is built on the relationships and conversations we maintain with parents and whanau, as we deeply appreciate their contributions, aspirations, culture, language, and identity for all our tamariki, emphasising the importance of whanaungatanga in our collaborative efforts.

We provide a variety of opportunities for Tamariki to explore and experiment through sensory experiences. Our goal is to help all our tamariki cultivate strong, trusting relationships with their Kaiako and peers, while being supported to flourish as individuals.

Nga Tōtara(Over 2's)

The concepts of Tuakiri, Turangawaewae, and whanaungatanga are fundamental in supporting the development of Tamariki within Nga Tōtara.

Our Tamariki, aged between 2 and 5 years, are encouraged to cultivate their mana and take pride in their identity and heritage, fostering meaningful connections with people, places, and elements recognised in our educational setting. We strive to create a serene learning environment guided by Te Whariki, our curriculum, where Kaiako and Te atua inspire our Tamariki to become curious and confident learners. They are encouraged to develop self-help skills, embody the qualities of a Rangatira, engage in Te korero, explore diverse cultures, act as kaitiaki, and practice Manaakitanga.

Our program is designed to prepare Tamariki for Kura through a rich and purposeful Kaupapa.
We are committed to fostering a welcoming and calming atmosphere that feels like home, and we invite your ideas and contributions to enhance our Nga Tōtara program.
Acknowledging that parents are the primary educators, we seek to collaborate closely with you to address your child's unique needs, guided by the principles of Te Tiaki Kaupapa: caring for ourselves, caring for others, and caring for our place.
