We are a small whanau-based centre with many ties within our local community. We are the stepping stones in the lives of tamariki within our community. Tamariki come to us as seeds, kaiako nurture tamariki throughout their learning journey so they are able to meet their full potential and blossom, ready to take on the next steps in their educational journey and life.
All children are welcome at our centre, their language, culture and identity become a part of our centre. We truly believe that all children should feel connected to the wider community to understand our history, our people, and discover their place within it - we do this through regular excursions to local primary schools, rest homes and to the town hall for yoga classes.
We are a small but close team with each teacher bringing their own unique skills to the table. With regular professional development and learning from one another we are consistently upskilling to provide the best possible care and education to our BestStart Inglewood family. We also have a special member of the team, Marshmellow-Snowball, our centre rabbit who gives the best cuddles and comfort to our settling children.
We are made up of two classrooms designed to meet the needs of each individual child with links to each child's language, culture and identity on display and evident within daily practices, routines and celebrations. We cater to the needs of children aged 3 months to 6 years of age with a purposefully designed under one next, supporting the unique needs of this age.
While Namaste is not a common word you would hear in the ECE setting, you'll hear it regularly at BestStart Inglewood since we've been engaging in yoga excursions with Stacie from Yogi Kids Taranaki!
