Connecting children to play, through our community!

From trains to planes - we build connections between our centre, families and our amazing community.

At BestStart MacDonald Street, we engage in regular meaningful community excursions to empower children to discover their sense of belonging within our vibrant Mount Maunganui community. This includes walking trips, visiting the nearby airport, and using our van to explore surrounding areas and local landmarks like Mauao.

We work closely with nearby schools to support each child's transition to primary school through our "Set for School" programme and we are lucky to have a before & after-school care and holiday programme on our premises for ease of pick-up and drop-off!

We are a large, spacious centre with a HUGE outdoor play area that encourages adventure and exploration. Our on-site qualified chef prepares healthy, delicious meals and snacks for the children each day and our learning environments are set up with intentional teaching activities to encourage communication skills, learning through play, developing social competence and building lifelong relationships.
