At Beststart Melling, we believe, Our Community, Our Whanau!

BestStart Melling is a purpose built early childhood centre in a bustling area of Melling.


Being connected with the community is also very important for us and we have great relationships with our neighbouring businesses. We go on regular excursions to local businesses, the retirement home, pet shop, supermarket, café, medical centre and dentist and have them visiting our centre to share with the children too! This provides our children with fun, real-life experiences that help them feel connected to the wider community.

We are also proud of the rich diversity we have in our centre and the strong relationships we develop with families. We celebrate our unique cultures and come together regularly with fun events. We try to create an environment that encourages everybody to feel warm and connected. Each family who joins into BestStart Melling joins our BestStart Melling whanau.

Working in partnership with kaiako, whānau, the community and tamariki to create a holistic learning environment, where everyone has their place.
