BestStart Montel Ave is an early learning centre located in Henderson. We provide high-quality early education and award-winning childcare for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

At BestStart Montel Avenue, we nurture learners with aroha as our guide. Our local curriculum, inspired by the Opanuku Stream, reflects the history, values, and opportunities within our community. It emphasises the importance of transitions, whānau connections, and cultural heritage, fostering a sense of belonging and partnership. Our thoughtfully designed environments celebrate the identities of our tamariki and whānau, creating spaces where learning is guided by their unique interests and aspirations

Our Team

Our kaiako are passionate about creating a learning environment where children are seen as confident and capable learners. By working closely with whānau, we ensure that each child’s cultural heritage and family aspirations are honoured, building strong, meaningful relationships that support lifelong learning.

What We Offer

We provide a play-based curriculum that promotes freedom of expression and incorporates the rich resources of our local community, including Corban Estate Arts Centre
Nutritious, freshly prepared meals are provided daily to support healthy growth and development
Our Set for School programme in the Tui Room ensures a seamless transition to primary school, while our commitment to sustainability teaches tamariki to care for the whenua
We celebrate cultural and community events, creating a sense of belonging and shared purpose for whānau.

Our 18 month old daughter Heather loves going to BestStart Montel Ave. When she sees her school bag in the morning, she runs to the door to go. This shows us that she feels welcome and safe. She adores her teachers Hari, who is absolutely amazing with all the children.
