Discover our unique rooms

At BestStart Mount Eden, our spaces are thoughtfully designed to inspire curiosity, connection, and a love of learning. From our nurturing environments for infants and toddlers through to our engaging spaces for older tamariki, each area is set within rich natural surroundings that encourage exploration and discovery. Every space supports children to feel a strong sense of belonging while fostering confidence, independence, and joyful learning through play.

Pipi Room(Under 2s)

Our cosy Pipi Room caters to our youngest tamariki, aged from 4 months to approximately two and a half years. We provide a calm, nurturing environment where infants and toddlers feel safe, loved, and secure as they begin their learning journey.

Our caring and responsive kaiako understand how important this stage is for both children and their whānau. We offer a flexible and supportive settling-in process, allowing time for you and your child to become familiar with our teachers, environment, and daily rhythms, while we take the time to learn about your home routines and what matters most to your family.

Strong, trusting relationships are at the heart of what we do. Through our primary caregiving approach, each child builds a meaningful connection with a key kaiako, creating a sense of continuity, security, and belonging. We work closely in partnership with families, valuing your aspirations and ensuring your child’s care and learning is consistent, respectful, and individualised.

Paua Room(Toddlers & Preschoolers)

Our Paua Room caters to tamariki aged between 2.5 and 5 years, providing a rich, engaging environment where learning is guided by curiosity, creativity, and meaningful play. Set within rich natural environments, our spaces encourage tamariki to explore, discover, and connect with the world around them in authentic and meaningful ways.

Through our Set for School programme, preparation for school begins early and is tailored to each child. We focus on developing key skills such as early literacy and numeracy, independence, problem-solving, and positive learning behaviours, supporting tamariki to become competent and confident learners ready for their next step.

We also work in close partnership with whānau, valuing your aspirations and ensuring each child’s learning journey is supported consistently between home and centre.
