BestStart Northwood

BestStart Northwood is a quality early learning centre close to the suburb of Belfast. We have three fantastic classrooms catering for children of different age groups. We have our nursery for 3 month – 2 year olds, our preschool for 2 – 3.5 year olds and then our prep room for 3.5 to 6 year olds.

We are dedicated to providing children with spaces that foster learning through play and engaging group activities that build on their current interests. Our curriculum is enriched by regular excursions to local supermarkets, vegetable markets, cafés, and parks.

We take pride in our warm, welcoming environment and multicultural staff. We ensure regular school excursions to local parks, the city library, and nearby schools. We foster strong partnerships with families, creating an inclusive atmosphere where children make memories that last a lifetime. Annual events at Northwood feature cultural celebrations and a fun holiday program, adding to the enriching experiences we provide.

Our Spaces

Our spaces are designed to be age-appropriate and stimulating, with large outdoor areas for both under two and over two age groups, promoting physical development and exploration. Each classroom features a program tailored to support individual care and educational needs, with a flexible approach to meet each child's requirements. Our program includes a variety of regular experiences in music, art, group times, story times, and more.

Providing an environment that allows children to challenge themselves and support their natural determination, we have plenty of activities for children to try new skills. Allowing children time to be successful in moments of sheer determination enables them to develop positive feelings towards life skills that prove a challenge. With the outdoor environment being so large and incorporating both the prep and preschools, children are given the chance to interact with the younger nursery children (over the fence) as well as the older children in the prep room.  Supporting and encouraging the relationships and well being of the children during these interactions fosters skills such as trust, friendship, acceptance and perseverance. These interactions allow for many memories to be made and cherished as each child continues their journey through BestStart Northwood.
