Relationships built on respect and meaningful rituals underpin our under-two’s curriculum.

Our dedicated infant and toddler teachers engage in respectful care interactions, celebrating children’s natural body movements and development. We encourage the tamariki to build strong, trusting relationships developed through positive, emotionally nurturing engagements.

We provide primary caregiving within the Nest, and one-on-one moments in our Koru Room which really strengthens the bond and trust between each child and their special teacher. The key contact for each family enables us to work closely together on your wishes for you child as well as following the child’s natural rhythm and routine.

We work closely with whānau acknowledging individual aspirations are met with love, encouragement, guidance, and support. We provide children and their whānau with an environment that empowers success through modelling positive social and emotional skills and providing a culture that supports co-operation and kindness. We aim to nurture, empower, and facilitate the children’s social and emotional competency to regulate their feelings, thoughts, and ideas emotionally and mentally. We support children to make fair and reasonable decisions with a focus on sharing, turn-taking and being a kind friend.

Within each of these three over two spaces, we acknowledge the vital role we have in guiding children to be active participants of their community now and in their futures, which involves school readiness. We provide an empowering environment that caters for all ages and stages of development. We acknowledge each child’s individual cultural identity, interests, strengths, and experiences of the world around them while also valuing whānau aspirations. We design the curriculum to supports children’s group and individual interests, creating a stimulating environment that enhances children’s learning in a meaningful way. We highly value tuakana-teina relationships where we focus on empowering our 3- and 4-year-olds to be leaders and nurturers. We aim to for all children to feel encouraged to take responsibility for their learning through encouraging their independence to create and act on their own ideas. A key priority we foster is children’s socio-emotional skills, where they feel confident to develop and maintain friendships. We support literacy and numeracy through everyday engagements of active exploration within their environment and planned experiences.
