At BestStart Rangiora we believe relationships are key to learning. We have a centre wide key teacher approach which allows strong relationships to be formed for each and every child. We are committed to building strong relationships with our families and our local community of Rangiora in order to enhance your child’s learning experiences. We welcome parents and whanau to join us regularly and introduce the children to the wider world and community around them through regular excursions and in-house centre visits from educational programmes run by our local community.

Our Team

We are a small but close team with each teacher bringing their own unique skills to the table. With regular professional development and learning from one another we are consistently upskilling to provide the best possible care and education to our BestStart Rangiora family.

William has been attending BestStart since late 2019. With me being anxious my nerves were put right at ease with your kind and reassuring teachers. Each one of your staff has played a pivotal role in helping myself and William settle into his new routine and environment and we couldn’t be more pleased. It has been seamless. Relationships are very important to William and he has built such strong nurturing relationships with all the teachers and students. You truly do have superstar teachers, who are so compassionate to their students as if they were their own children. It really shows the hard work you put into the centre to make it feel like a home away from home and we are so great full! We love how you are so flexible with days and times at short notice and it’s been a blessing with my work schedule changing so frequently. I can’t imagine William being any where else, in fact when we leave he yells on our way home “I want to see Sheryl” - a bond so strong you can’t create that with just anyone. Thank you so much for having the best team at BestStart and loving our children so much. We love you for it.

I know when I leave my son he is in the best hands. He is happy to stay there and always greeted with warmth and huge smiles. He loves the delicious food that is provided. The staff are friendly and approachable. Easy to talk with in regards to concerns or just reporting back to you with what has happened throughout the day. Love getting the story park posts.

Parent Part 1

Both my children attend the day-care and I have been really impressed by the quality of the teachers and the genuine level of interest and caring they show towards each child. I love that the Centre Manager knows all the children, every name and unique personality. Both my children are very different in nature and what they require/love and I have been really impressed in working with their teachers in meeting these different needs. I am regularly updated via the app on what they are up to during that day which is great as it allows me to talk to (and remind) my children at dinnertime about what they did that day. Their teachers will often send through a personal update if there’s moments of cuteness or humour they know you will appreciate.

Parent Part 2

Following the bushfires in Australia last year, the children took a real interest in the animals that were displaced and the teachers then incorporated this interest in their teaching plans and activities – they are so responsive to the children’s interest to maximise their learning, its fantastic. They’re currently into their superheroes! My son had some trouble toilet training and we engaged a child psychologist – BestStart were so fantastic in working with us on this, as well as being very accommodating of the psychologist being on site to observe him. Her feedback was that the daycare is one of the best she has seen in Christchurch – accommodating different interests and styles of play. I feel like we are part of an extended family attending there and could not recommend the daycare more highly. I would be happy to be contacted if anyone wanted to discuss the feedback further.

Millie is so happy at preschool. She loves the atmosphere and the activities provided and her teachers know her so well. Staff are friendly and interact with you even though they are in other rooms and remember both Millie’s and my name. They all want what is in Millie’s best interest and strive to extend her and meet her needs. I love the comments on Storypark being able to see what cool things she has been up to. The meals Millie receives look yummy and she seems to like them more than what she is given at home.
