Discover our unique rooms

BestStart Redwood offers an inspiring, well-resourced environment where tamariki can flourish. Our indoor and outdoor areas are thoughtfully designed to encourage exploration and connection with nature. The large, free-flowing outdoor spaces in both the nursery and preschool are secure, stimulating, and full of opportunities for play and discovery. With a strong focus on the environment, tamariki learn about growing fruit and vegetables while embracing a garden-to-plate philosophy. Indoors, our inviting spaces provide a sense of belonging and excitement for learning, ensuring every child feels supported and valued.

Manuka RoomUnder 2's

The Manuka room has a large outdoor space with plenty of natural shade. Routines for under 2's are undertaken in an unhurried are respectful manner and our pepe are encouraged to move and explore their space at their own pace.

Pōhutukawa Room2-3.5 years old

The Pohutukawa room helps support the children as they begin to learn and master their communication skills. The children in this room are building the foundations for ongoing relationships with their peers as well as adults around them. The Kaiako in this room are instilling a sense of confidence in the children of this room and developing their own ability to see themselves as lifelong learners.

Kahikatea Room3.5 years and over

The Kahikatea room is helping to prepare the tamariki for school. We have a set for school programme that every child participates in the term before they start school. There is a focus on independence and Social competence for example the children have a "can do" attitude and see themselves as capable learners that are willing to explore and feel empowered to lead their own learning.
