Discover our unique rooms

We have four aged-based learning rooms to meet the changing needs of our tamariki as they grow. We provide a warm, welcoming, and safe environment for our children and whanau, creating strong relationships that build emotional connections, security, and trust. In every room children are encouraged to be actively involved in literacy, numeracy, science, arts and crafts, cooking, music and movement, and a range of physical activities.

Sensory Room(All ages)

Our Sensory room is specially designed to provide a variety of sensory experiences to help ngā tamariki manage their emotions.

It offers a soothing atmosphere with controlled lighting, sounds, and textures, which can help reduce anxiety and stress.

This room can be used as part of therapeutic interventions, supporting physical, emotional, and cognitive development.

Pēpi Room(3 months - 2 years)

Within our Pēpi Room, our Kaiako support ngā Pēpi to gain a sense of belonging during their transition from home to our centre, which is crucial for their emotional and social development.

Each pēpi is assigned a primary kaiako to provide stability and consistency, which is essential for developing a sense of belonging.

We build strong partnerships with parents and whānau to allow families to participate in curriculum decisions, enhancing the child's sense of community.

Teina Room(2 - 3.5 years old)

We create a language-rich environment for toddlers, which is a wonderful way to support their oral language development and social skills.

We talk frequently with our toddlers about everyday activities, read books with rich vocabulary and engaging stories, and sing songs along to music to help with language, rhythm and memory.

Tuakana Room (3.5 - 5 years)

In Tuakana, we support our tamariki as they prepare for their transition to school / kura, both academically and socially, through our Set for School programme.

This involves a combination of communication with local schools and fostering independence in daily activities, such as weekly lunchbox days and encouraging personal responsibility.

We regularly communicate with local schools to understand their expectations for new entrants tamariki and we share insights about each child's progress and areas of strength with local schools when needed, ensuring a smooth transition.
