Discover our unique rooms

We have four aged-based learning rooms to meet the changing needs of our tamariki as they grow. We provide a warm, welcoming, and safe environment for our children and whanau, creating strong relationships that build emotional connections, security, and trust. In every room children are encouraged to be actively involved in literacy, numeracy, science, arts and crafts, cooking, music and movement, and a range of physical activities.

Sensory Room

The Sensory Room is where our youngest tamariki explore and develop. Our kaiako invite you to come and experience with your little one, the care and belonging that are infused in all our actions.

We aim to challenge tamariki, stimulating their learning and development through providing sensory experiences.

Pēpi Room(0 to 2 years)

Pēpi works towards independence and self-reliance as our pēpi are learning how to feed themselves, follow the routines, sing songs, and care for the younger pōtiki pēpi. Pēpi tamariki are beginning to communicate and develop friendships, each at their own pace. To meet the needs of their growing social competencies kaiako encourages interactions and begin developing oral language through sensory play and modeling. As our pēpi become walkers and explorers, our focus shifts to taha tinana (physical wellbeing) as they learn how their body grows, feels, and moves, and how to care for it.

Teina Room(2 - 3.5 years old)

Teina aims to create an environment full of manaakitanga. We understand the value of caring about others, uplifting them, supporting them, and making all tamariki feel at home. Through supporting and encouraging one another to express themselves we can help harness their mana (inner power), curiosity, and learning. In teina, the tamariki are beginning to learn routines, gain independence and view the world from different perspectives.

Tuakana Room (3.5 - 6 years)

In Tuakana, we foster our ability to be self-reliant, confident communicators. Tamariki are reminded of kōrero; to express their thoughts, ideas, and emotions using their words. Our tamariki are learning strategies for communication, co-operation, self-regulation, and focused learning as part of our ‘Be School Ready' programme. Throughout our day kaiako engage in intentional, teachable moments that encourage curiosity and discovery. We engage in learning as we question, finding wonder in things big and small. When ngā tamariki are ready to embark on their school journey, we celebrate them and their whānau during our graduation ceremony, sending them off with lots of aroha.
