Discover our unique rooms

We have a modern, purpose built building with four classrooms each designed for the developmental stage of the children. We pride ourselves on creating provocations and activities for tamariki that spark their curiosity, follows their interests and provides challenges.

Kiwi RoomUnder 15 months old

In our Ruma kiwi environment we use primary caregiving to care and nurture our littlest Pepi. Our teachers provide a warm, nurturing And enriching Environment where our pepi can explore, learn and challenge their abilities while feeling safe. We build respectful relationships with our pepi to develop healthy brain paths which they will utilise to help them learn and grow.

Pukeko Room15 months - 2 years old

In this room we continue to offer primary caregiving. We encourage our children to explore their curiosity and creativity to create working theories about their world. We support and encourage children to gain an understanding of their own bodies in a safe and challenging environment.

Piwakawaka Room2 years - 3.5 years old

In this environment children develop independence, blossom friendships and life long skills that teachers support and extend. Play is at the heart of our learning. In our Ruma Piwakawaka environment we explore emotional intelligence and gain an understanding about our emotions.

Tui Room3.5 years old +

We provide children the opportunity to inquire, question, understanding other point of view, working together, self-help skills and confidence building. In our Ruma Tui environment we encourage in small group experiences that incorporate essential skills for school.

Set For School Programme:

This initiative starts in Ruma Kiwi and blossoms throughout the center. We provide experiences that introduces our children to early concepts of maths, science, art, reading and other curriculum areas. Our Ruma Tui teachers work with the Marlborough new entrance teachers to create a supporting programme for our children transitioning to school.
