BestStart Stoddard Road is an early learning centre in Mt Roskill. We provide high-quality early education and award-winning childcare for children aged from 3 months to 6 years old. We offer Halal meal options and are conveniently located very close to the Maioro Road motorway off-ramp.

At BestStart Stoddard Road, our centre philosophy focuses on creating an inclusive environment for our children to grow, learn, and explore. We provide open-ended learning experiences to inspire our children's creative thinking skills and imagination. Our centre has a large outdoor area where children can explore and discover, including our own gardening area where tamariki (children) learn how to grow plants and vegetables which we use in the meals provided by our centre cook.

Our community is diverse, and we embrace each child’s cultural background and specific needs. Culture is a very important part of BestStart Stoddard Road and we have many ways and experiences to help develop and celebrate cultural identity. We don’t use any beef or pork in our meals and we offer Halal meal options to our tamariki.

We value the importance of relationships between the centre, children, and whanau (families), encouraging parent participation as we work together. We host community events and parent evenings at our centre where families can all come together as a community and support our children's learning journey.

Our Team

Our qualified team of kaiako (teachers) plan children’s learning based on their individual strengths, interests, and needs, as well as working closely with whanau to understand their aspirations for their children. We offer frequent online updates on your child's learning and development via StoryPark so families can conveniently see and contribute to their child’s learning.

Our Spaces

Our centre prides itself on our large indoor & outdoor environments and engaging educational spaces for tamariki to discover and learn about the world around them. We have three age-specific rooms where tamariki can learn in environments designed to suit each child's stage of development. Our large outdoor environment offers an open space for children to develop their gross motor skills as they run, jump, climb, and challenge themselves on our play equipment.

Amazing centre with amazing staff. Started our wee boy at 6months old and was extremely nervous but the staff were nothing but supportive and loving and made the whole process so easy. Now 8 months old and so impressed with the growth & confidence of our little guy since being with Best Start. Rooms are so spacious compared to many other centres was so surprised with the space the kids have. Would highly recommend and worth checking out.

I was really lucky to have BestStart Stoddard Road close by to my work. When I went back to work the staff were really supportive of me coming in during the day to breastfeed. The teachers have used different strategies to help my son sleep, they’ve been great as he transitioned to solids and they’ve shown a genuine love for him. It’s good value for money too. Other daycares don’t provide food and they cost more. I also love that it’s a diverse environment.

As parents, we were always worried about our child's growth and safety at an early age. My son has been attending BestStart Stoddard Road since he was one years old. Now he is almost three years old and he is learning lots of things which is very important for kids. Overall I am 100% satisfied with the learning environment as well as the safety of my son, when left with the amazing team. This is the best childcare in the New Zealand. My son is coming home happy and with new words he learnt as well as good habits. We have observes that he gets excited getting his bag and heading to daycare, he knows his teachers and he is happy to be left with them. We also have great communication with the teachers and management team. Everyone is very approachable and open to sharing their insights of how they are seeing our son progress. We would recommend this center as we feel our son is being well looked after.

We want to express our thanks to the centre teachers and assistants for bringing the change in my kid Hayathi. We still remember the 1st day after the orientation was over, and Hayathi was supposed to be on her own from then on; it shook her and us. She couldn't understand English and all the new faces all of a sudden. It was a lot for us to take in, but we took things slowly, one day at a time and now, after 6months, to see her adapt to the changes. All kudos to the staff. We appreciate the effort you all put into organising daily activities and events like gardening, music, dance, Matariki, father's day etc. Making the kids do the extracurriculars is such a mammoth task, and it is done effortlessly by Kanza, Veda, Tooba, and Rani day in and day out with a smile that couldn't be appreciated with just a Thanks. It's something not all can achieve, and it is beyond appreciation. Managing one seems like more, but the staff with a lot of toddlers around is unimaginable, and they do it effortlessly. Much love and appreciation. We are in awe. Huge thanks to Kanza and Veda, especially. We can't thank them enough for all their efforts.
