BestStart’s Set for School programme assists with a smooth transition to get children ready for primary school. We partner with families, encouraging pre-literacy and numeracy along with developing children’s independence and self-help skills.

We provide healthy and nutritious meals at our centre, supporting healthy eating and physical activity for children and families.

We are proud winners of an Innovation Award, demonstrating an ongoing commitment and progression in the authentic implementation of te reo me ōna tikanga Māori. This means we speak te reo Māori on a daily basis, we acknowledge and celebrate Te Titiri o Waitangi, and we implement tikanga Māori in all our practices in the centre.
