A Volcanic Eruption
At BestStart Te Whāriki we enjoy following our children’s interest. Through play the children discovered a book about volcanos they loved to read so we made the volcano come to life for the children to explore.
By giving children the opportunity to investigate, ask questions and problem solve they are developing awareness on how things work. Through exploring the science of making a volcano erupt the children have been able to make the connection to nature and science through fun playful ways.
By making volcanos the children could experience firsthand what an eruption looked like. By mixing two household chemicals baking soda and vinegar helped children explore science.
At BestStart following children’s interests and learning through play is our primary goal for children’s learning. We pride ourselves on extending their interests and learning.
