Here at BestStart South Road we are very passionate about our natural environment, being surrounded by fruit trees, vines and garden beds.

On the 5th of June our kaiako (teachers) and tamariki (children) wrapped up warm and braved the wet weather to plant a ponga in support of Arbor Day with the excitement of providing natural shade and encouraging more bird life into our centre. We also planted an Apple tree in support of World Environment Day with the thought of providing us with yummy apples to nourish our bodies.

These new plants are gratefully received with our tamariki visiting them on a regular base ensuring they are well cared for and growing strong in anticipation of seeing an apple.
