Our Awa Class (Baby Classroom) recently enjoyed a delightful outing to MiniKidi Playtime!
This gave our youngest learners a special opportunity to explore, play, and connect in a new and exciting environment.
The tamariki were full of curiosity as they discovered the colourful and engaging play spaces. From soft climbing areas to sensory-rich toys and textures, each part of the environment invited exploration and supported their developing motor skills. It was wonderful to see the babies confidently crawling, reaching, and interacting with both their surroundings and each other.
These moments of exploration foster confidence, coordination, and a growing sense of independence. This experience also reflects the BestStart Katikati centre vision of “where we belong: Our place in the community.” Community connections such as these outings play an important role in helping our pēpi develop a strong sense of belonging.
By visiting local spaces, children begin to recognise that they are part of something bigger, building familiarity, trust, and confidence in the world around them. MiniKidi provided a safe, welcoming, and stimulating setting where our tamariki could learn through play. The smiles, laughter, and meaningful interactions we observed highlighted the value of extending learning beyond the classroom.
At BestStart Katikati, we are passionate about creating a nurturing and responsive environment where every child feels they belong. If you are looking for a warm and engaging space for your under-twos, we warmly invite families to enrol in our Awa Class and become part of our caring centre community. We look forward to many more special adventures together!
