One of the most magical parts of being at Coast is the adventures we take beyond our centre.

Our tamariki absolutely love heading out on excursions — whether it’s swimming lessons, a play at the park, a walk to the beach, or even a quick trip across the road to the shops.

Every outing becomes an exciting journey filled with curiosity, learning, and lots of smiles. Each excursion offers something special. Swimming lessons help build confidence and water safety. Trips to the park strengthen gross motor skills, teamwork, and imaginative play.

Beach walks open up endless opportunities for exploring nature — collecting shells, noticing patterns in the sand, and feeling the fresh sea breeze. Even a simple walk to the local shops turns into a real-life learning experience about community, routines, and making connections. And let’s not forget the part our tamariki often love the most… the bus ride! Hopping onto the bus with their friends, choosing a seat, and watching the world pass by is always a highlight. The excitement is contagious, and the ride itself becomes a moment of joy and wonder.

Along the way, our children learn so much: road safety, listening and following instructions, being aware of their surroundings, showing respect in public spaces, and supporting each other as a group. These real-world experiences build confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging within our wider community. Every excursion is more than a trip — it’s an adventure, a lesson, and a memory in the making.

Next time you’re out and about, keep an eye out — you might spot our Coast tamariki exploring, adventuring, or waving from the bus!
