Today our Tamariki enjoyed a very special adventure out into our community!
Two Kaiako and seven very excited Tamariki set off on foot from BestStart Herewini, making our way to Central Mall before hopping on the bus to the library.
The beautiful sunny weather made it the perfect day for an outing, and the Tamariki were full of excitement from the moment we left. They were incredibly confident on the bus, showing us just how capable they are when exploring our community.
At the library, we enjoyed some wonderful teddy bear-themed stories, followed by plenty of singing and dancing. The tamariki had lots of fun joining in with Teddy Bears’ Picnic and Rock-A-Bye Your Bear. Our adventure was also full of lovely community connections.
Along the way, we spotted two of our daycare Mums and enjoyed seeing familiar faces out and about. At the bus stop, we met a lovely elderly lady and had a beautiful conversation with her. The Tamariki even treated her to a special performance of The Wheels on the Bus!
The Tamariki showed wonderful curiosity and confidence as they explored new places and experienced different ways of travelling together.
It was such a wonderful day filled with sunshine, confidence, connection, music and plenty of smiles!
