Here at BestStart Dannemora, our tamariki in the Preschool and Kindy rooms recently completed a series of four sessions with the Hear This Education programme, led by the wonderful Lorne.
Through fun and interactive experiences, the children learned about the important role their ears play in helping them hear, communicate, learn, and stay safe. Throughout the programme, they explored how hearing helps them understand the world around them. They also learned why loud sounds can sometimes damage hearing and discovered ways to protect their ears in everyday situations.
The sessions encouraged curiosity, conversation, and active participation. The children eagerly shared their ideas, asked thoughtful questions, and demonstrated a growing understanding of how to look after their hearing health. These learning experiences helped build awareness while supporting their confidence and wellbeing.
At BestStart Dannemora, we value opportunities that empower children to develop healthy habits and make informed choices about their wellbeing. Learning about hearing health is an important part of helping children care for themselves now and in the future.
A big thank you to Lorne and the Hear This Education team for making learning both meaningful and enjoyable. Our tamariki are proud Ear Heroes and are ready to put their new knowledge into practice every day.
