BestStart Kaiapoi transition to school
Here at Kaiapoi we have a prep room to support children’s development, ages and stages as they get closer to school. Teachers/educators at Kaiapoi have built relationships across and between members of the learning community to support children as the move into school. We encourage principals and new entrant teachers to visit our centre and the children who will be starting at their school. Teachers/educators and children also visit our local school each term to become familiar with school environments.
We started the first term by visiting our local schools including a little winder in the community to Tuahiwi school as we have many children going there this year. It was so nice to start building this relationship with them. It was great to see one of our past students doing well at school. Teachers/educators at Kaiapoi have strong knowledge of our local schools and the unique features they provide and it’s nice to share this with parents and the children.
